His knowledge of wildlife behavior, seasonal conditions, and the local environment adds depth to every game drive. Unlike the busier northern safari destinations, Nyerere offers a quieter and more intimate wilderness experience.
Home to the mighty Rufiji River, Nyerere National Park features beautiful river landscapes, woodlands, wetlands, and abundant wildlife. Look out for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, and the endangered African wild dog. The park is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with an impressive variety of resident and migratory species.
During your two-night safari, enjoy expertly guided game drives and a scenic boat safari along the Rufiji River and its waterways. Depending on your interests and the arrangements available, guided walking safaris can also be included.
After your wildlife adventure, fly back to Zanzibar for six relaxing nights on the Indian Ocean coast. Arrive in Zanzibar and transfer to your lodge in the heart of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After breakfast, board a short flight to Nyerere National Park (Selous), one of Africa’s largest and most pristine safari destinations. Upon arrival, your guide welcomes you for a game drive en route to the lodge. Settle into your lodge nestled in the bush, where wildlife roams freely around the property. In the afternoon, enjoy a sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River—a tranquil and photogenic way to spot crocodiles, hippos, and birds. Wind down with dinner and a night under the stars, surrounded by the wild.

Wake to the sounds of the bush and set off for a full day of game drives in the vast plains, rivers, and woodlands of Selous. Your expert guide will help you track elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and maybe even elusive wild dogs. A picnic lunch in the park lets you dine surrounded by nature. Optional walking safaris are available for those craving closer encounters. This day offers incredible photographic opportunities and deep immersion in nature, before returning to your lodge for sundown drinks and a hearty bush dinner.

Enjoy a final early morning game drive as the bush comes alive with golden light and morning activity. Return for breakfast, then transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar.
