Comments “ Pongwe Beach Hotel was fabulous. The staff were charming and helpful and would offer alternatives if the menu options were not suitable. The food was delicious and the beach beautiful. It was glorious waking up to see white sand and clear blue sea right outside your door and the range of seating from hammocks to sun loungers was comfortable and usually free. The hotel is small enough that it never feels crowded and in fact the number of other guests is just right. We loved our romantic dinner served on the beach one evening and the seafood platter which was intended for one person was more than enough to feed 3 or 4 people. The only criticism would be the rough driveway up to the hotel - everything else was perfect”.

Comments: “I just got back from a wonderful week long stay for my honeymoon and wanted to share some of my experience at the Manta Resort.
The hotel is isolated for sure - but that added to the mistique for me. Rarely these days do you feel like you have found a place in the world living without too much outside influence, much as they have lived for centuries, but Pemba has that feel.
My wife had commented on the ride to the resort after a whole day of flights from the Northern Serengetti and the hour plus long ride from the airport that she did not the hotel would be worth the effort - immediately after stepping into the hotels entryway/dining hall and being handed a cold drink to watch the sunset - she turned to me and said "I take it back - this is totally worth it!".

Comment ”I have to say that after staying here twice, I feel like one of the special guests. Sele treated us like queens our last night there and treated us to an incredible seafood feast. The food is YUMMY, the service tends to be good - could improve with more attention to the guests while they are lounging around the veranda and pool areas; the setting is just out of a picture book and its location is spectacular and very convenient. The price for residents is very reasonable for the quality of the experience. This is a pearl in an oyster for a romantic or luxurious stay without the ridiculous price”.
