Victoria Falls is one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world - hence its almost universal appeal to travelers. The mighty Zambezi flows broad and placid to the brink of a 1700m wide basalt lip before taking a headlong 100 meter plunge into the thunderous, frothy chasm of the gorge below. This is the world’s largest sheet of falling water.

Victoria Falls is an excellent destination to combine with visiting Chobe National Park which can be done either on a one day visit or for a few days. A first class safari is to spend a few days in Hwange National Park followed by a few days at Victoria Falls. If you are a horse rider, there are excellent horse riding safaris available in Hwange, the Okavango Delta and the Kafue National Park in Zambia, all within easy access from Victoria Falls.

Luxury Lodge for Honeymoon

Tongabezi Lodge is a romantic hideaway on the banks of the Zambezi River just upstream of Victoria Falls. We offer a selection of houses and cottages, each beautifully furnished using local materials. Guests can dine beside the river or on their private terrace.

Privately owned and run, Tongabezi combines an exclusive ambience with the warmth and hospitality of the people of Zambia. Luxury safari trips are included, both on the river and in the bush.

Tongabezi is a perfect destination for honeymoons, weddings and special celebrations. We offer thrilling boat trips to Livingstone Island, where David Livingstone caught his first glimpse of the mighty falls. Guests can also stay on our private island, Sindabezi, an exclusive camp on the Zambezi.

Sindabezi Island - has only five open-sided thatched cottages, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush in the perfect, pristine setting. Views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park complete the experience.
