What better way to complement your safari adventure than with a stay on a magical tropical island such as Zanzibar or Pemba? Whether you’re on honeymoon, out for some adventure or fresh from the Serengeti, there’s a Zanzibar Beach Holidays with your name on it.

Top of the list is Zanzibar safari. Actually a combination of two large islands: Unguja and Pemba – and a number of smaller ones, Zanzibar was once a separate state and wealthy too thanks to its status as the capital of East Africa’s slave trade and its importance as a port for European, Arabian and Indian trading ships. It’s a colorful history and one which adds to the charm of these beautiful islands and your Zanzibar beach holidays.

Zanzibar’s capital is Stone Town, a marvelous mixture of African and Asian heritage, producing a fusion of these two cultures which is unique. Arab dhows are still moored in the harbor and colorful narrow alleyways are full of interesting shops and bazaars. Combined with soft, white beaches and the warm, inviting waters of the Indian Ocean, these islands are a perfect addition to any Tanzanian holiday and a great way to round-off an exciting wildlife safari.

There are an abundance of resorts and accommodation options on a Zanzibar safari and Pemba, from cheap and cheerful backpacker-style establishments to exclusive, fully inclusive private island luxury getaways.

Mafia Island is beautifully positioned among pristine coral reefs, making it a huge draw card for anyone who enjoys snorkeling or scuba diving. Smaller, more intimate and offering a higher level of exclusivity to its larger cousins, Mafia is the epitome of romance and an ideal honeymoon destination. Pemba and Zanzibar truly are a dream beach island destination.

Zanzibar's brilliant white beaches lapped by the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean provide the perfect place to relax, soak up the sun and take a break from some busy sightseeing.

At the northern tip of the island is Nungwi, reached by a road lined by banana palms, mangroves and palm tree. This is the dhow building capital of Zanzibar island, so it is a good place to see traditional craftsmen at work.

The beaches in Zanzibar are a paradise, interspersed with picturesque fishing villages, where the people live a simple way of life, unaltered over the years. There are more than 25 beautiful beaches in Zanzibar, and some are so quiet and remote that the only noise breaking the silence is likely to be the ocean.
