This is to let you know that our first African adventure has finally come to an end and we got back home safe. Not our luggages though as they have been left behind by mistake by Kenya Airways staff at Nairobi airport, but they are to be delivered to us hopefully within tomorrow, so hakuna matata ;)
Apart from this small inconvenience, our trip was one to be remembered. Thank you very much for your help and flexibility in putting together the schedule of our trip and arranging every little detail of it.

We went on a trip with Calabash Adventures in August 2011 with 4 girls and we had an amazing time! The 4-day predator safari was a private safari in a really nice 4-weel jeep with open rooftop and we were accompanied by a guide and a private chef during the whole trip. The service was amazing and the guide and chef were really nice and had a lot of knowledge about the parks and the animals in it. And we saw almost everything! Lions, zebras, hippos, gazelles, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes and all kinds of gorgeous landscapes. If I would ever book a safari again, then definitely with Calabash. It is so much value for your money, also compared to other companies that sometimes cram over 8 people in a car. Also if you doubt on taking a safari, do it! It is not even that expensive if you go with Calabash. All in all: good service, great safari, not expensive at all.
First of all we want to thank Tillya and his team - they did such a great job and organized everything perfectly for us to have a great safari!
While we were staying on Zanzibar in May this year, we met some other travelers who recommended Calabash Adventures to us. We then just sent an email to Tillya and only 2 days later we could already start our amazing 4 days camping safari through Lake Manyara National Park, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. The landscape is spectacular, absolutely beautiful, and we saw lion mums feeding their babies, hunting scenes, the big 5 and many many other awesome animals!!! Our tour guide Wilson really had eagle eyes, he spotted every small bird hidden in the trees and made sure we always had enough time to take pictures and to observe the animals. He is brilliant at ornithology and zoology and explained us the characteristics of all the animals and plants we saw. Khalid, who was cooking during our tour really pampered us with delicious meals, always taking care of me being a vegetarian :), he was a hilarious and entertaining tour companion.
Altogether, we can really recommend a tour with Calabash Adventures: everything is very well organized, cars and equipment are clean, well-kept and outfitted (e.g. with binoculars, reference books), the chosen camping sites were clean and beautifully located, the tour guides are very well-trained and really know the flora and fauna, they speak very good English and are very patient with tourists who want to take dozens of pictures from every zebra they met (and there were many :)).
We thanks all who take trouble to let their friends and relatives about us. We promise a return to all new guests by add more services. I will soon publish our new fleet conversion safari vehicles and features which are found inside the Safari jeep. Keep your eyes on facebook
