Why Tailor Made Safaris in Tanzania

There are a number of reasons why it makes sense to book a tailor made safari through a Tanzania-based operator rather than a ready-made package with a well-known large company in your home country.

You can have the exact itinerary you want, not the one the tour operator thinks you want. You may be interested in seeing a specific animal or bird, or spending more time in one particular park than another. We can arrange a combination of parks and / or countries to suit your requirements.

You can leave on whatever date you wish as there is no set departure date. This means you can fit your trip in with your work schedule, annual leave requirements, family commitments etc.

You can design your safari to be whatever length you wish as there is no set number of days. From just half a day safari in Arusha National Park to a complete East African safari spanning several weeks and numerous countries – we can arrange it all.

You can choose your own hotels/lodges should you wish; or you could leave the choice to us if you prefer. If you have a particular style of accommodation you favor, we will try our best to match that – anything from self-help camping, through mobile camps, comfortable lodges to luxury hotels.

You can design your very own dream trip, with as many or few inclusions in addition to the safari as you would like: shopping for crafts, seeing how your coffee is produced from plant to cup, visiting a Maasai village, getting up close and personal with nature on a walking safari, experiencing nocturnal life in the bush on a night safari, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, tracking the elusive gorillas, spending time on the beach, watching the animals from aloft in a hot air balloon, learning about the history of man at Oldupai, feeding giraffes, visiting an elephant sanctuary and much more. There are a number of different extras you can add on to the basic safari package – contact us for details.

On a group tour you have to abide by 'majority rule', which may not coincide with your wishes which means that you could easily miss out on some experiences or sights. Being on a private tour you can fit each day around your party's requirements and interests - if you want to stay at sighting a little longer you can, if you don't want to stop and look at a bird in the tree you don't have to, if you want to go back to the lodge for lunch there are no other people to consider, if you feel the need for a later start in the morning that can be arranged.

Often group tours use more than one vehicle. When travelling in a convoy, any dust blown up by the first car will becomes a problem for those behind, making it not just unpleasant to breathe, but also causing a haze for photographers. The lead vehicle usually has the best opportunity for animal spotting, which can cause resentment amongst the passengers following behind. z With just your private group in the vehicle, it is a lot easier to move around and get the view – and photographs – that you want.

You don't have to share a vehicle for 12 hours a day with strangers who you may or may not get on with.

By booking direct with the safari outfitters in Tanzania, you are liaising with the actual people who are arranging your safari, not through an intermediary. Unlike generic tour operators in your home country whose staff may not even have visited Africa, you will be talking to specialists who live here and know the area inside out.

The money you pay for your safari goes directly to support local families, not lining the pockets of multinational conglomerates.

And last but by no means not least: by booking direct with a local supplier, you are not paying a middle man in your own country, with all their overheads and staffing costs; which obviously all adds to the cost of your trip. This way we are able to keep the price of your safari competitive people to consider, if you feel the need for a later start in the morning that can be arranged.
