Twiga campsite is a private campsite located at most popular stopover on the Northern Safari Circuit of Tanzania  where there is the colorful market village of Mto wa Mbu, close to the entrance gate of Lake Manyara National Park along the foot of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment.

 

The Campsite is found closer to the road leading to most famous park of Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. It is 5km from the gate of Lake Manyara. The location of this campsite favors many local people who benefit from tourists who would like to do shopping and walk around the village. Since the campsite is located outside the park the security of the area is now maintained by the owner of the campsite. Where apart from fence there are also several guards outside and always watching after your belongings.

 

There is small lodge inside the fence with several rooms, the campsite is also open to the public and used by several other Safari companies.

 

Toilets and other facilities is share by campers. Swimming pool is surrounded by tropical flowers, trees and shrubbery; the myriad bird species which visit our beautiful gardens ensure that at Twiga Campsite you will be greeted each morning with a dawn chorus of birdsong.

 

You can walk around Mto wa mbu village, you guide will give idea of what events is in the village on that day. Or you can go for local disco or just visit the colorful market.
